What aspects of your cultural heritage are you most proud of or interested in?
There is so much cultural pride I have where can I start, with a definition of course:
According to Tangible Cultural Heritage it is “an expression of the ways of living developed by a community and passed on from generation to generation, including customs, practices, places, objects, artistic expressions and values.” Cultural Heritage is often expressed as either Intangible or Tangible Cultural Heritage (ICOMOS, 2002).
The intangible parts of my cultural heritage are sayings, food preparation and presentation, hair styles, music, family morals and values, religious traditions and practices. Where and how we as individuals and collectives live and carry ourselves in and through this world.
So again there are so many things that encompass my cultural heritage to answer how and when, why and what, I would be writing a book. I am proud to be the dream my ancestors thought of.., I am here culturally unapologetic of self.
