What brands do you associate with?
I had to think about this question. I am not a brand name chaser unless it has a purpose outside of someone famous uses it or their name is on it. I try as best as I can to deal with environmentally friendly brands as much as I can , leaving a negative foot print on this blueish green marble is not something I want to do.
I try to be mindful of those coming behind me. It has not always been that way for me. I used what was healthy for me and my family. Just not to the extent that I go through now. It’s just that when you know better you do better.
So in my walk through this life I have learned some thing’s….through much research trial and error I have found some tried and tested products I used some when my children were younger…ie Tom’s tooth paste, Tom and Jerry ice cream…. I will only mention a few here with a little information an ask that if you have not used theses brands you research them before you try them.
Ecover: Produces eco-friendly cleaning products with a focus on sustainability this comp. I found this company’s products while visiting my daughter in Europe a few years ago. I think you can buy these products online. If you’re interested in specific Ecover products, you can look for items like Ecover dishwashing liquid, Ecover laundry detergent, Ecover all-purpose cleaner, and other products bearing the Ecover brand name. These products are known for their commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible ingredients.
Ben & Jerry’s: Uses fair trade ingredients and supports various social and environmental causes.
Ben & Jerry’s, known for its ice cream, also produces a variety of other frozen desserts and related products. While ice cream is their most famous product, Ben & Jerry’s has expanded its offerings to cater to various tastes and dietary preferences. Not all products are available, options may vary depending on your location and the time of year, as they introduce seasonal flavors and products. I love ice cream and I do choose hagan daz (rum raisin) sometimes if I cannot find Ben and Jerry’s.
Toms of Maine: Offers natural and sustainable personal care products.
They are known for their commitment to using environmentally responsible ingredients, minimal packaging, and supporting various social and environmental initiatives. Their products are often favored by individuals looking for personal care options that align with their values of natural, sustainable, and ethical practices. I love their toothpaste and mouth wash.
IKEA: Working towards sustainability by using renewable materials and promoting energy efficiency. Now although most items purchased have to be put together, some of the furniture is pretty stable (as long as you follow the directions…LOL)
Unilever: Parent company of brands like Dove and Ben & Jerry’s, Unilever has sustainability initiatives and goals. Dove soap is pretty good for my skin, not everyone can use it.
Seventh Generation: Provides eco-friendly household and personal care products. This is a company based in the United States. It has a strong focus on producing environmentally friendly and sustainable household and personal care products. Seventh Generation operates as a standalone company and is not owned by any larger conglomerate. I use some of their household products.
The Body Shop: Known for ethical and sustainable practices in the beauty industry.
The Body Shop is a cosmetics and skincare company known for producing a wide range of beauty and personal care products that are inspired by nature and often emphasize ethical and sustainable practices. They make lotion, body scrubs, things of that nature.
It’s essential to research and stay informed about a brand’s specific environmental initiatives and practices to make informed choices as a conscious consumer. Additionally, new brands and products with eco-friendly approaches continue to emerge, so it’s worth exploring local options too.
So yes to brands….No to name brands….what an oxymoron…LOL
