“Do not put your eggs in a single basket….”

“Why not ?” I ask gran…. she gave me a serious look..you know the screwed up one eye brown down, the other up…,back straight, hands on hip as she begins to give me an example….she goes to the fridge takes out three eggs, she places 2 eggs in one paper bag and the other one in it’s own. As she is doing this she Continues talk about these eggs and baskets. Like most young teenagers all I can think is why don’t she hurry up (not in a disrespectful way, a bored way, as teenagers have life to get to….lol).

Gran continues on by this time I am in my own zone…..suddenly, bam…startled I looked down at the table and bag of eggs, she literally broke the 2eggs in one bag, leaving the other one alone. It was a mess…Gran says “see this can happen at anytime…now, what do you see…I look at the table looked at Gran. I said “a mess Gran a hot mess that I have to clean up” , she says, “baby stay with me now. We are talking about putting everything you have in one place”, I replied oh yeah Gran, now I get. From that day on I never put all my eggs in one basket….especially the pretty blue ones.
