Neither Leader Nor Follower yet sometimes both

Do you see yourself as a leader?

Neither leader nor follower” is not inherently an oxymoron, but it does suggest a state of independence or neutrality. It implies that someone does not fit into the traditional roles of being a leader or follower in a particular context. This might describe someone who prefers to work alone or make decisions independently rather than assuming a leadership or follower role within a group. While not contradictory, it does highlight a departure from the usual leadership-follower dynamic.

How can you not be something but be something?

Well, if you look at the roles of both positions you can be both just at different times or you don’t have to be either.

Let’s look at how you can be both first:

Then there are situations where an independent, self-directed approach is appropriate and valuable. Being neither a leader nor a follower allows you to exercise autonomy and self-determination.
