No mam.. I didn’t….

If you had to get a tattoo right now, what would it be and why?

So, no less than 38 years ago, my sister and I, as young women did what young women did during that time, decided to get matching rose tattoos. 🌹My sister told our mom. Mom then asked me about it, and I lied—out of pure fear of what she might say! 😂 My mother believed we should not have such “markings” on our bodies. It was very much a religious thing for her.

Fast-forward 38 years, and those little roses are still there—faded a bit, but still blooming. 🌹❤️If I had to get a tattoo right now, I think I’d get another rose… but this time, it would be a rose with a few thorns.

Because after 38 years of living, loving, learning, surviving, and growing, I’ve learned that the beauty of the rose has always been in knowing it has thorns too.

And maybe I’d let Mom know about this one… although, after 38 years, I’m still not sure I’m ready for that conversation! 😂🌹

new post on mental heath coming soon.
