Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Possible treatment for ADHD

Treatment for ADHD often includes medication to help manage symptoms like inattention and hyperactivity. Common medications include stimulants like Ritalin or Adderall. Therapy, such as behavioral therapy or counseling, can also be beneficial, helping individuals develop skills to manage their behavior and emotions. A combination of these treatments, along with support from family and teachers, can be very effective.

 Foods to avoid for people with ADHD

 Some people with ADHD may benefit from avoiding certain foods that can worsen symptoms. This includes sugary foods and drinks, as well as artificial additives and preservatives found in processed foods. Some also find that reducing caffeine and avoiding allergens like gluten or dairy (if sensitive) can help.

Foods to include in the diet for people with ADHD

 A diet rich in whole, unprocessed foods can be beneficial. This includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins (like fish, chicken, and beans), and healthy fats (such as those from nuts, seeds, and avocados). Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish like salmon, are particularly good for brain health.

Recipes for people with ADHD

Smoothie Bowls: These are easy to make and can be packed with fruits, vegetables, and protein (like yogurt or nut butter). They can be customized with favorite toppings, such as nuts, seeds, or granola.

Homemade Chicken Nuggets: Using whole, simple ingredients like chicken breast, eggs, and whole-grain breadcrumbs, homemade nuggets can be a healthier option than store-bought. They’re often more acceptable to picky eaters because they resemble familiar fast food.

So, it is a series of information I will be sharing with you this August it will begin with “Intellectual Disability” or (ID). We will be discussing the following:

*The history of Intellectual Disabiity**

* What it is.
